Dr Zachary Purvis Elected Fellow of the Royal Historical Society

We're delighted to announce that Dr Zachary Purvis has been elected a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society (RHS) in recognition of contributions made to historical scholarship.

These include, among others, his recent monograph Theology and the University in Nineteenth-Century Germany (Oxford University Press, 2016).

Fellowships are awarded to those who have made “an original contribution to historical scholarship”, normally through the authorship of a monograph.

I'm very pleased to be elected a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society. It's an honour to be part of such a storied society, whose promotion of the scholarly study of the past through a wide range of endeavours has yielded rich returns. And, of course, I'm very thankful for all of the mentors, colleagues, and scholars—of history and other fields—whose support has had a deep impact on me.
