Stories from the Margins

This School of Divinity research seminar will explore the question of how marginality plays into the academic research of religion today. Understandings of religion, its contested space in society, and marginal stories of religion will be discussed by a panel of staff across the School of Divinity. Speakers include four members of the School of Divinity, Drs. Ralston, Robinson, Sutcliffe, and Townsend, spanning the subjects of Arab Christianity and Christian-Muslim relations, storytelling as a research method in Christian sectarian in the West of Scotland, the story of a local journalist who anticipates the post-60s new age/holistic religiosity, and readings of the Apocalypse of John as a Jewish text.

The event is free. All are welcome.
