OTSEM is a network of Old Testament scholars connected to PhD programmes in a number of Northern European university institutions. The object of the network is to improve the environment for Hebrew Bible/Old Testament research, especially doctoral and post-doctoral research, by inspiring contact and cooperation between members and departments throughout the network. The participation of the students is usually funded by the respective host university.

The group was accompanied by Dr David Reimer and Dr Anja Klein, who both served as respondents to students from other institutions. Our students’ papers were very well received and preparations are already under way for the upcoming meetings in Oslo (2018) and London (2019). For further information contact Dr Klein, who also represents the UK on the OTSEM steering committee, or see the OTSEM website http://otsem.blogs.uni-hamburg.de/ .
