Image The 3 Minute Thesis (3MT) competition is based on a concept developed by the University of Queensland which has gone global. Doctoral researchers compete to deliver the best presentation about their research in just three minutes, using only one slide. The aim: to inform, enthuse and engage an audience of lay and academic judges about your research. Panel of judges Judges for the School heat are: Head of School Professor Helen Bond, Director of Postgraduate Studies Professor Brian Stanley, Director of Research Dr Steven Sutcliffe, Director of Knowledge Exchange and Outreach Dr James Eglinton, School Communications Officer Heather Walker. Why take part? The University of Edinburgh has run a 3MT competition every year since 2013. Former winner Chris West has said: “I can honestly say that throughout the whole my PhD, the 3 Minute Thesis is the one thing that stands out, as being the most fun, that I have learnt the most from, that I will remember most.
