Professor Mona Siddiqui, Dr Arkotong Longkumer and Dr David Grumett have become the latest Divinity staff to be awarded funding for their research. Image Professor Mona Siddiqui The Issachar Fund has awarded $338,671 (nearly £265,000) over two years to Professor Siddiqui for a theological, philosophical and political exploration of the theme of gratitude in Christianity and Islam. The award will support the organisation of three international multidisciplinary events and the publication of a collection of edited papers. Dr Longkumer has received a Leverhulme Research Grant for £259,256, with Dr Jacob Copeman from the School of Social and Political Science, for a project entitled: 'Gurus, anti-gurus, and media in North India'. The research will take place over 36 months. Dr Grumett is Co-Investigator on a successful bid to the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) in conjunction with the University of Chester. The project will look at the Christian ethics of farmed animal welfare. Dr Grumett’s share of the grant is in the region of £112K.
