Professor Timothy Larsen awarded the degree of Doctor of Divinity

We’re delighted to announce that Professor Timothy Larsen (McManis Professor of Christian Thought at Wheaton College and an Honorary Fellow in the School of Divinity) has been awarded the degree of Doctor of Divinity by Research Publications by the University of Edinburgh.

His submission and portfolio of publications was entitled “Faith and Doubt in Nineteenth-Century Britain.”

Professor Larsen is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and a Fellow of the Royal Anthropological Institute. He is the author or editor of twenty books including Crisis of Doubt: Honest Faith in Nineteenth-Century England, A People of One Book: The Bible and the Victorians, The Slain God: Anthropologists and the Christian Faith, and John Stuart Mill: A Secular Life (all with Oxford University Press).

This is splendid news and a richly deserved recognition of research excellence.
