Information about the Scottish Network for Religion and Literature About usThe Network draws on the considerable range of expertise of scholars in the field from across the University. The Network aims to function as the hub of the academic study of literature and religions in the city, attracting doctoral researchers as well as tapping into the public and tourist interest in literary Edinburgh. We will draw on New College’s historic connection with the churches in Scotland and beyond as well as its ongoing strengths in Religious Studies. Currently, there is a steering group planning the direction of the Network – Professor Alison Jack, Dr Linden Bicket, Professor Penny Fielding, Dr Michael Fuller, Professor David Jasper, Dr Steve Sutcliffe and Ms Lois Wilson-McFarland.Future events include an ongoing series of 'In Conversation With...' meetings with writers, literary critics and religious commentators. The first of these was an exploration of religious themes in the work of Alasdair Gray with Rodge Glass and Sorcha Dallas.Contact usFor more information about the Scottish Network for Religion and Literature, please contact Professor Alison Jack.
