Information about the Scottish Network for Religion and Literature

About us

The Network draws on the considerable range of expertise of scholars in the field from across the University. It aims to function as the hub of the academic study of literature and religions in the city, attracting doctoral researchers as well as tapping into the public interest in Edinburgh’s rich literary and religious history.

We hold regular ‘In Conversation with…’ events with authors, poets and academics, and these are open to the public as well as the students and staff at the university. Many of our events are held jointly with other networks across Theology and Religious Studies, drawing on the interests and expertise of our wider academic community.

Our yearly New College Festival of Books and Belief takes place each November.
