Opening lecture - 2015 The opening lecture at New College has been a tradition since the school opened in the Autumn of 1850. Each of the Professors was invited to give a public lecture to introduce their discipline to the general audience and explore some of the big ideas being discussed. We carry this on to this day and the opening lecture and the inaugural lecture this year will be given by Helen Bond, Professor of Christian Origins.
