Thanks to the generous donation of our alumnus Dr Robert Funk, New College now features prominently in the Edinburgh skyline. We were delighted to host Dr Funk at the inaugural ceremony of the New College lights that took place on 29th November. Thanks to Dr Funk’s donation, the main entrance has also been made more accessible and new lighting has been embedded in the flooring of the archway. The refurbished wrought-iron gate now gives an impressive depiction of the burning bush from the account of Moses in the book of Exodus. Professor Paul Foster, Head of School said: "New College now illuminates the skyline of Edinburgh. Its striking appearance is visible to all visitors to the city.
