New developments in Science and Religion

We are expanding our offering in Science and Religion with the appointment of Dr Shoaib Ahmed Malik.

The School of Divinity is excited to welcome Dr Shoaib Ahmed Malik as our new Lecturer in Science and Religion. Dr Malik brings a rich and unique background, with expertise spanning Islam, philosophy, and the natural sciences, which promises to infuse fresh interdisciplinary perspectives into our academic community. In addition to his roles on the editorial boards of Theology and Science and Zygon, Dr Malik is the chief editor of Palgrave’s newly inaugurated Islam and Science book series and encyclopaedia.

Online programme in Philosophy, Science, and Religion

The School of Divinity is also host to an online programme in Philosophy, Science, and Religion (PSR). The jointly-taught programme was transferred from the School of Psychology, Philosophy, and Language Sciences, in June and has significantly added to our post graduate student community. Held alongside the in-person MSc in Science and Religion and the residential and distance PhDs in Science and Religion, Edinburgh School of Divinity is one of the leading centres in Science and Religion across the world.
